I started with a theme: The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.
First thing first, I needed a Grinch. Buying one was out of the question because I was doing this on the cheap. So I used this post: http://dabblethehutt.com/projects/grinch-yard-art/ and just swapped the wood with cardboard. I spent $4 on cheap paint from Meijer and got the cardboard from my basement.
Here it is almost done. I am not a painter and I can't draw if my life depended on it, but the instructions in the post above are great and I think it turned out pretty good.
I set him up outside my desk as if he were stealing the lights off of my cube.
The most time consuming part of this project was the snowflakes. I made about 50 of them and it was a huge pain. It took hours and that was with my boyfriend's help. I drew the designs and he cut them out. I also made that sign in the back which was pretty easy with cardboard and the paint I had already bought for the Grinch.
And finally I added a tree and covered the walls with fake snow (cotton balls strung on clear string). Also another very time consuming project. Anyway it was worth it because I walked away with first prize!!
